Palm Desert Residence

Palm Desert, California Historic Residence

Originally built in 1936, this historic Spanish Colonial revival home has many of the distinguishing details that would be seen on a Wallace Neff style home. Located in an exclusive neighborhood in the California desert, the property is surrounded by fruit and palm trees. The current owner purchased the property in 2002 and painstakingly restored it room by room with passion and a meticulous attention to detail. A lover of vintage California tile, the owner researched what would be historically appropriate for the style and consulted with Native Tile to create tile for many areas in the home. Our common ground was a friendship with Tracy Conrad, owner of the Willows Historic Palm Springs Inn and interior designer Marty Newman who trusted we would be the appropriate source for tile befitting this historic property. We worked with the owner over a 20-year span and became quite attached to the outcome as each new chapter of this lovely property restoration unfolded year by year.
